On Reddit, a video showing the royal brothers separately completing different obstacle courses is amassing thousands of views and has racked up 101,000 likes at the time of writing.

Titled “Prince Harry vs Prince William” the video shows Harry completing an impressive rope climb as the song “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire jubilantly plays in the background.

The footage then shifts to show William taking part in an obstacle course and being assisted as he walks across a wooden beam while the music changes to a crude whistled version of the song.

The implied joke is that Harry is the better athlete of the pair with William’s lackluster go at the obstacle course mocked.

The video has seen a debate sparked on Reddit. It can be viewed here.

“I care not one whit for the Royals, but since they are constantly shoved in our faces, I always respected that Harry joined the army for real—not in an honorary role but as a real soldier serving in a real war zone with real danger,” reads one comment.

Another added: “Well, in William’s defense, even if he wanted to join the army proper he would not be allowed since he’s in line to be King. The 2nd borns are always given more freedom than the 1st when it comes to succession.”

Another person commented: “One appears to be training, the other seems to be taking part in a team building ‘ropes course’ that part of the team building is ’trusting your people to catch you if you fall’ type stuff.”

Another, defending William, wrote: “This isn’t exactly fair. Both were military officers. While William didn’t see direct combat like Harry, he did fly Search and Rescue helicopters, which is a pretty dangerous deployment.”

The event that Harry is shown competing in is from February 2021 when he made a surprise appearance on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

During his appearance, the royal took part in the Spartan Race Obstacle Course which included him running through a set of tires, doing a Hercules hoist with weighted bags, a famed barbed wire crawl over mud, a spear throw, a classic rope climb and an atlas carry with a 60-pound medicine ball, per Pop Sugar.

The footage of William is from a visit by him and Kate Middleton in Northern Ireland in 2019.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited Belfast, Fermanagh and Ballymena where they met with young people and tried their hand at some activities at the Roscor Youth Village, an outdoors center, per Hello!.

The viral video comes just days after the Duke of Sussex released a new photo of his children with Meghan Markle—Archie and Lilibet.

“Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family,” the couple said as they released the first photo of their daughter who was born in June.
