The latest such incident came on Saturday, when No. 9 Oregon fell on the road to No. 21 Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore. The 38-34 defeat by the rival Beavers helped knock the Ducks out of Pac-12 championship contention and resulted in fans entering the field at Reser Stadium.
Postgame video shows senior linebacker DJ Johnson, who had three tackles in the loss, striking an Oregon State supporter in the back of the head. The former was quickly restrained by Oregon staff and it’s uncertain what the fan said, if anything, to prompt Johnson to hit him:

Oregon released a brief statement acknowledging it was aware of the situation:
“We are aware of a postgame exchange involving a member of our football team and a fan and are working to gather more information,” the university said in a statement.
Earlier in the season, Alabama receiver Jermaine Burton was seen confronting two Tennessee fans after they stormed the field at Neyland Stadium following the Volunteers’ first victory over the Crimson Tide since 2016.
It’s uncertain whether the Pac-12 will take a similar approach following Saturday’s latest incident.
