Colombian sensation James Rodriguez opened the scoring for Los Blancos in the first half by nodding in Isco’s delivery from the left wing before former Spurs man Bale finished off his old club with a driving shot from 25 yards which bounced just in front of Vorm, who was unable to prevent it skipping up off the turf and into the top-left corner.
Even though Tottenham had nothing to show for on the scoreline, one of their young acquisitions Delle Alli stood out with an impressive performance against the Spanish outfit. The 19-year-old English midfielder who made a move to the White Hart Lane from MK Dons this summer displayed maturity on the pitch belying his tender years and capped off a noticeable display with a couple of nutmegs on midfielder Luka Modric and Toni Kroos respectively.
