Jamaica’s Chad Wright finished second with an effort of 65.03m while Erik Cadee of Netherlands finished third with an effort of 64.45m. Gowda’s effort of 65.75m was also 25 cm short of the Rio Olympics qualifying mark.
The Mysore-born athlete also holds the national record of 66.28m.
