As the Predators were about to take the ice ahead of Saturday’s matchup with the Anaheim Ducks, Arvidsson approached Conor Payne and Payne’s girlfriend Morgan Landsberg, a pair Preds fans who were waiting to greet the team. Unknown to Landsberg, Arvidsson had an engagement ring placed around his finger when he approached the couple, and Payne – as planned – instructed his girlfriend to take the ring.
Clearly she was in shock. Arvidsson and teammate Ryan Johansen, who was a bystander, were on their way to the ice before they could find out whether she said “yes”. Predators defenseman PK Subban walked by with a little encouragement of his own. “Oh yeah,” Subban said. “Oh, yeah!”
Happily for all involved, Landsberg said “yes” making for a memorable moment for both the Predators and the newly-engaged couple.
